A Contemporary Abstract Art Philosophy by Satyajett Salokhey
When an abstract artist stands in front of his canvas, he is not bothered about the outcome.
He is sure of the journey, but the destination is not determined.
It is like poetry, which has the substance but lacks fixed meaning.
It has existence — simple, pure joy of being.
There is no want to be understood or misunderstood, or to be quiet or controversial.
The process is not about going out in search of meaning, approval or attention.
The wish is to bring yourself back to yourself.
And here, you meet the most important person in your life.
If you have gnosis, you do not need faith.
The painter becomes the painting.
Beauty alone cannot save you.
You will deliver yourself.
The last checkpoint on this journey of life is not winning life, but losing to death.
Life is preparation for death.
And this is not a catastrophe.
This is not a triumph either.
It is simply understanding that everything cannot be defined and perceived in form.
Form is inspired by thought.
Process arises from the mind.
I allow the process to take the lead, without worrying too much about the form.
A process in which art is not made — it is born.
Recognisable objects distract from direct experience.
Kinetic Minimalism is an approach to abstract expressionism rooted in movement, silence, residue and presence.
The work is not created to illustrate an idea, but to encounter a state of being.
Using raw canvas, industrial materials and gestural movement, the paintings emerge through rhythm, interruption, gravity and instinct.
The process remains open, uncertain and alive.
Each work exists as an experience rather than an explanation.
