Take a shower, you are holy

NATURE OF AWAKENED MIND

Wash your mind

By Daigo

Taking bath holds a significance in Indian Culture.

You take a bath before going to the temple and praying.

You take a bath if a crow or lizard touches you.

You take a bath when you come back from a funeral.

You take a bath in the rivers and pray to the Sun. (Arghya)

I take a shower twice a day, I like to.

But very few understand the real purpose. The meaning to be understood behind doing so.

Every time I take a shower, I clean my mind.

The nature of the awakened mind is Primordially pure.

Our habitual thinking interprets the mind\’s dynamic energies as good or bad.

Ego.

In that case, nothing is holy and sinful in this world.

Things simply occur and we label them what fits our convenience.

If you want to avoid it you label it bad, if you want it in your life you say it’s good.

The nature of things and the labels attached to them simply depend on the condition and conditioning of the mind.

You fall in love with a person and there are days when you regret your decision to have that person in your life.

The mind keeps on changing, it assimilates to the patterns of your habitual thinking, but you stick to your decisions.

Suffering.

Due to our cognitive calibre, we can think about what we are thinking.

But many few use this ability, many few find it to be fruitful.

The reason is, you are not aware.

Aware of the cognition, Aware of the mind and the dynamic expressions of the mind that proliferate into thoughts.

We are so much caught up in the game of good and bad — holy and unholy that we forget to look beyond the illusory display of thoughts.

The one caught up in the mind will always do the rituals of everyday life out of fear.

Humans fear what they don’t understand. And anything done out of fear of losing out will lead to dissatisfaction in life.

As it leads to doing things without understanding them, it leads to doing things out of unreasonable expectations from life and without knowing the real purpose.

Humans for ages have used metaphors and compositions to pass on knowledge.

Like we have fallen prey to considering the illusions of the mind to be true, we have also developed a tendency over time to draw literal meaning out of the scriptures and great poems of the past.

Water has been a crucial element in this form of literature.

It represents purity and an element used to purify.

Many modern and ancient holistic techniques use water to cure physically and release childhood traumas.

We were born in water in our mother’s belly. We as a species have evolved out of water.

Hence instead of following the rituals blindfolded, it is time to look at the implications of those rituals on the mind, body and soul.

Take a bath and praise the sun

Our mothers use you to remind us of washing your armpits while taking a bath as a child.

Next time you take a bath, don’t forget to wash your mind.

Let it be an opportunity to be aware.

Become aware of every hot warm drop that falls on your body.

Become aware of your body.

Like every other thing in existence, your body is constantly changing.

Every time you glance at your body in the mirror, it is different than what you saw last time.

Every time something changes, it releases energy for new energy to take its place.

Become aware of every pour constantly changing and releasing energy while doing so.

When you understand the impermanent nature of the body, gently move towards your mind.

The mind thinks your body is permanent because you think the thoughts are permanent.

Once you understand the impermanent nature of the mind, thoughts are suspended.

Your mind is purified and dissolved into the flow of consciousness.

When the murk of thoughts disappears and the mind is dissolved, you see the Sun of consciousness.

Once you see the Sun, you cannot un-see it.

It shines on the liberated mind and becomes the source of your knowledge to operate in the world.

You will have a direct experience of this world. No mind, no thoughts, no fear.

Nothing to pray and nothing to exorcise.

As your being becomes the prayer that exorcises the negative energies right where they arise.

You will cut the illusion at its root, in real-time, every moment to moment.

A mindful shower will make you holy.

Like washing the only feet outside a temple, and hands until the elbow in the Mosque or the water on the head during baptism; take a shower.

You are holy.
